Malbec, a grape variety with a rich, centuries-old history, has captivated wine lovers around the world with its bold flavors and distinctive characteristics. Originally from France, specifically the Bordeaux region, Malbec found its true expression in the high mountain vineyards of Argentina.
The date of the celebration in honor of this most famous Argentine variety was also not chosen by chance: on April 17, 1853, a decree was signed on the creation of the Quinta Normal agronomic school in Mendoza, headed by French agronomist Michel Pouget. It was he who first brought Malbec vines to Argentina, not foreseeing the then success of this variety in new conditions. Although Malbec's homeland is in southwestern France, the Argentines have managed to convince almost the entire world that their Malbec is superior to all others.
Today, Malbec is famous not only in Argentina, but is also grown in various wine regions around the world, including Chile, the United States, and Australia. Its winemaking versatility, ability to express terroir and consistent quality have cemented it as one of the world's most beloved red wines. Whether served on its own or paired with a hearty dish, Malbec continues to captivate wine lovers, with its flavor profile and undeniable charm.
Karas Malbec
Armenia was also no exception, and today you can try the Malbec grown on the Armenian terroir in the gardens of the Karas winery, located in sunny Armavir Province. The black volcanic soils are a true blessing for the growth of healthy vines, unique grapes with excellent character and personality. Karas Malbec artfully expresses its nature—a deep ruby red color with purple hues, aromas of red plum, blackberry and tobacco, velvety tannins, and an expertly balanced palate.

Luis Felipe Edwards Malbec
The Luis Felipe Edwards (LFE) winemakers masterfully highlight the fruity characteristics of each grape variety, but without forgetting the expressiveness of the Chilean terroir. The Chilean Malbec from LFE is one of the brightest representatives of this line—a dry red wine with a rich fruity bouquet and a harmonious, soft taste, characterized by low acidity and tannins. The aroma is dominated by the tones of black plum and cherry, complemented by elegant shades of truffle and biscuit. This wine goes well with pasta, white meat, pizza, and traditional Chilean empanadas. By all criteria, it is ideal for everyday use, although it is not recommended for long-term storage.

Postales Malbec
This Malbec from Argentina boasts a bouquet with hints of red plum and spicy orange, setting it apart from the traditional dark aromas and complex flavors of Mendoza. The Malbec from Patagonia feels light and refreshing in the mouth, with hints of black currant. Only at the last phase does a slight bitterness appear. It goes perfectly with roast beef and will even make a pleasant company with some airy dessert.

Rigal "L'esquisse" Cahors
Wine from the southwest of France, in fact, the birthplace of Malbec. Its aroma contains what distinguishes the strict traditional French Malbec: ripe red fruits, plums, blackberries, and a little tobacco and oak. Rich taste with pleasant sourness, velvety tannins that leave a pleasant feeling of viscosity in the mouth after the first sip, pleasant bitterness, black pepper and chocolate in a not very persistent aftertaste. Gastronomically, this wine is a little capricious, but it will definitely highlight red meat dishes, aged Gouda, and several other cheeses with an intense strong taste.
