American famous actor philanthropist and humanitarian George Clooney left Armenia on Monday morning, April 25. During his 3 day-stay in Armenia filmmaker, philanthropist and humanitarian Clooney visited Armenian Genocide memorial complex. He laid fresh flowers out of respect for all the people who died in the Armenian genocide. Renowned actor was wearing a forget-me-not pin [the symbol of centenary of Armenian genocide]. Later on “Ocean's trilogy” star together with finalist and organizers of “Aurora Prize” photographed against backdrop of Mount Ararat.
George Clooney arrived in Armenia on Friday, April 22 to participate in the first awarding ceremony of the “Aurora Prize” for Awakening Humanity organized by Armenian entrepreneurs Ruben Vardanyan, Noubar Afeyan.
The "Aurora Prize" was founded by the 100 LIVES initiative to celebrate the spirit of humanity demonstrated by those who intervened on behalf of persecuted Armenians one hundred years ago. It is named after Aurora Mardiganian, who, as a child, survived the atrocities of the Armenian Genocide and committed her life to seeking recognition and justice.
