Model Gigi Gorgeous has been ddetained by immigration officers at Dubai International Airport for being transgender, according to TMZ.

The 24-year-old model, who documented her transition on YouTube, says she was stopped at immigration and told by an officer that she could not come into the country because she is transgender.

Gigi was born male but her passport has been updated and refers to her as a female. Airport police claim that her passport depicts her as a male, although Gigi says this is not true.

TMZ also explains that the “imitation of women by men” is illegal in Dubai, and violators face up to a year in jail.

Gigi is currently trying to leave the country but airport officials are still holding her passport
