Jennifer Lopez, 47, has just landed the role of real-life drug lord Griselda Blanco in an upcoming HBO TV movie, according to Variety.
The superstar will play the late Cocaine Godmother in the film, which focuses on the rise and fall of her empire.
Griseldo was considered the most powerful female cartel member of all time and had a huge effect on the drug trade in the 1970s and 1980s.
'I’ve been fascinated by the life of this corrupt and complicated woman for many years,' Jennifer said in a statement.
'The idea of teaming with HBO felt like the perfect fit for finally bringing Griselda’s story to life.'
J-Lo will also serve as an executive producer on the project through her Nuyorican Productions company.
Griselda was shot dead in in Medellín, Colombia, on September 2012, aged 69.
The superstar took to Twitter to reveal her news, sharing posts about her project from Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, IndieWire and TVLine with her 36.6 million followers.
