Kanye West's ditching his cell phone

Kanye West tweeted Wednesday that he's ditching his cell phone.

'I got rid of my phone so I can have air to create,' he told his fans via Twitter.

It's not known how he managed to tweet without the mobile device though.

The rapper first got a cell phone in 2011 as a way of finding out more about Kim, who at the time was married to Kris Humphries. 

'I looked on the internet, and there was Kim Kardashian with some extremely tall person, and I was like, 'I need to call her or something',' he told sister-in-law Khloe Kardashian on an episode of her cable TV show Kocktails With Khloe in April.

Kim and Kris divorced after just 72 days of marriage and in 2014, one year after the birth of their daughter, she and Kanye tied the knot.
