Brad Pitt to star in Quentin Tarantino's final film

13:25, February 2

Brad Pitt will star in Quentin Tarantino's latest movie, Film Critic, Deadline reports.

Pitt and Tarantino previously worked together in 2019's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, a role that earned Pitt his first Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. Pitt also starred in the 2009 film Inglourious Basterds and the 1993 film True Romance, which was co-written by Tarantino.

Tarantino's supposed final film is set in Los Angeles in 1977. It's about a critic who works for a fictional publication called "Pop Star Pages." Tarantino said the film was "based on the story of a guy who actually lived but was never really famous and wrote movie reviews for a porn magazine."

“He wrote about mainstream films and was a fringe critic,” Tarantino told Deadline at last year’s Cannes Film Festival. “I think he was a very good critic. He was damn cynical. His reviews were a cross between early Howard Stern and what Travis Bickle might have been if he had been a film critic."

It's yet unspecified what role Pitt will play in the movie.

The film writer and director previously called Pitt "one of the last big movie stars left."
