French-Armenian singer, composer, producer, and musical arranger Essaï Altounian recently released a music video for his song “Family.”

In an exclusive interview with NEWS.am STYLE, Altounian spoke about his future plans. Below is an abridged version of the interview.

Essaï, are famous American producers interested in you?

Yes. I was recently in Los Angeles, where I, an ordinary Armenian guy, signed a contract with famous American music producer Berry Gordy, who founded Motown Records and many other well-known companies. This is a great success for me.

Who helped you release your first single in the US?

I released my first single—Family—in America by working with him [Gordy]. Now, I’m preparing a new song which I will introduce in September. I’m currently working closely with him. Armenians are a very hard-working nation. If you work hard, you can achieve any goal.

What would you say about singing in Armenia?

It’s always a pleasure for me to come to Armenia, find and discover myself, my roots, and my ancestors’ homeland yet again. It will be a great honor for me to receive an invitation to sing in Armenia.
