Gillian Anderson, 49, has confirmed she is leaving The X-Files, according to THR.
The actress revealed to reporters during the TCA winter press tour that the just-revived 11th season will be her last.
'It's time for me to hang up Scully's hat. It just is,' she said. 'I'm finished, and that's the end of that.'
The 49-year-old also revealed she is walking away from American Gods after just one season, following showrunners Bryan Fuller and Michael Green out the door after they clashed with producers Fremantle over the season two budget.
'I'm not doing any more American Gods. Bryan and Michael Green aren't either, as has been announced,' she said.
Anderson played FBI agent Dana Scully, for the most part opposite David Duchovny's Fox Mulder, for nine seasons and two movies, between 1993 to 2002.
The duo were reunited for a six-episode revival in 2016; the first of a ten-episode 11th season premiered last week.
