Robert De Niro, 74, speaks onstage during the 72nd Annual Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall on June 10, 2018 in New York City, TMZ has reported. Actor stunned the crowd at the Tony Awards Sunday by sending a profanity-filled message to President Donald Trump.
“I just want to say one thing,” De Niro said from the stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall, before introducing a performance by Bruce Springsteen. “Fuck Trump. It’s no longer down with Trump. It’s fuck Trump.”
At the Tony Awards on Sunday night (June 10), the legendary actor -- onstage to introduce Bruce Springsteen's performance - started in silence, as the CBS telecast cut out the audio for a few seconds. But what he said clearly drew a reaction, as the majority of the crowd jumped to their feet in response.
