On January Armenian beauty Zara Gemilyan became the most beautiful woman of California winning the title Mrs. California Globe 2019. Zara will take part in Mrs. USA Globe on June and if she wins the title she will have the opportunity to participate also in Mrs. Globe 2019, which will be held in China on this December.
NEWS.am STYLE has had a very interesting interview with Zara on modeling, career, victory and family.
The beauty, 36, lives in Los Angeles for about 20 years.
“I was born in Yerevan and moved to Moscow when I was one, cause both of my parents went to past graduate university there. But I’m very fluent in Armenian. I go back to Armenia at least once a year”,-she says.
Zara has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Pepperdine university in international studies and management and a masters degree (MBA) in business also from Pepperdine university in Malibu.
“I was a marketing professional for a while but now manages my father’s and brother’s construction company. I love music and play piano and violin. My mom is a classical pianist”.
The beauty of California says she was never interested in modeling in her childhood.
“As a kid I was always too focused on school and later career and family and had other priorities”.
Unfortunately Zara’s marriage didn’t work out, but now she has an amazing son who’s 10.
“He’s my full time commitment. I am in good terms with my ex husband and we are still friendly and respectful towards each other”,-she says.
Zara became interested in beauty contest, when she realized that having a title increases chances of spreading awareness.
“My new year resolution was to support more women in need. As a Mrs. California I became a spokesperson for Women in Need foundation and we do fundraisers to help those who are less fortunate”.
Women participating in Mrs. Globe should show not only their outer, but also the inner beauty and strength.
“Definitely need to have a strong personality to do anything like this because it’s easy to break with all the good comes also lots of hatred and judgment. My platform is helping children in orphanages everywhere making them feel a sense of belonging and trying to improve their lifestyle. I was fortunate to be born into an amazing family and my duty is to give back”,-she says adding. “I think when you really know what you want and work hard towards it, there’s nothing hard in life”.
As for representing Armenia one day in the same contest, the beauty says.
“I had the honor of being asked to represent Armenia by the amazing Ashot Khachatryan, but I already committed here and I don’t like to not fulfill my promises. If I place on top in USA but not end up winning the title, I will still be able to represent Armenia”.
