Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle was the first guest editor for the 103-year history of Vogue magazine. Edward Enninful, the editor-in-chief of the British edition, wrote on Instagram.
The guests of the new “Forces for Change” edition were chosen by Meghan from different walks of life, which she associates with kindness, justice, and openness.
According to the gloss, Prince Harry’s wife personally picked up the heroines for release. Some of the women featured in the editor include Jacinda Ardern, prime minister of New Zealand, Francesca Hayward, royal ballet principal dancer, and Greta Thunberg, climate change campaigner and student.
Other noteworthy women chosen for the issue are: Jameela Jamil, body positivity advocate and actor, Ramla Ali, a boxer, and Christy Burlington Burns, founder of Every Mother Counts.
“The story begins with this cover, starring 15 changemakers, all titans in their respective fields, who have been personally selected by the Duchess and myself for the powerful and positive differences they are making in our world. The 16th slot will appear as a mirror on the printed cover and was included at the special request of the Duchess to show that you – that all of us, in fact – are part of this moment too,” he said on Instagram.
The September issue of the British Vogue will be the most voluminous in 2019. The magazine will be on sale in the UK on Friday, August 2.
