Please welcome, Take 6! Wonderful American sextet performed in Yerevan (PHOTO)

21:48, December 18

The American vocal sextet Take 6 is in Yerevan, and this is truly an event. After all, we’re talking about the ten-time Grammy Award-winning group, which is in Armenia thanks to Prime Production. The a capella group performs gospel songs that contain elements of classical music and modern R&B, as well as pop music.

Take 6 is an American jazz and gospel group that always performs in front of packed audiences in the US and Europe. Starting from its debut album, the release of almost every album is an event in the world of jazz. “They are dressed in trendy clothes and perform a capella music in a trendy way, and the rhythm and sound are always unique,” Down Beat wrote. “It can be another change of classical church songs or an original number, but each of their songs brings joy and is fresh and clean.”

The group’s concert at Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concerts Complex in Yerevan was dedicated to the 75th anniversary of Armenian jazz legend Levon Malkhasyan and was no exception. This is exactly the kind of music that music lovers (those who truly appreciate sound) of Yerevan don’t hear often. Every song was mathematically tested and emotional at the same time. “Tasty” harmony, juicy vocals, and finally, startling beats — all this was wonderfully performed by the American sextet.
