American Jelani Maraj, who is the brother of rapper Niki Minaj, was found guilty of raping his 11-year-old stepdaughter. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, Page Six reported.
Even two years ago, prosecutors sent his case to the court. In 2017, his stepdaughter said she had repeatedly been the victim of sexual abuse by her stepfather. The girl added he raped her at for the first time when she was 11-years old.
Nicki Minaj did not come to court during the trial of his brother. His lawyer read her letter in the courtroom, written in 2016 in an attempt to commute a sentence to her brother. Minaj referred to Maraj as the “most patient, gentle, genuine, giving selfless man I know.”
