10:17, April 9

Renowned Italian opera singer Andrea Bocelli will give an Easter concert at an empty cathedral of Milan, Mayor Giuseppe Sala informed on Facebook.

"I have received an invitation from the leaders of the Holy Church and the mayor of Milan, and of course I have agreed," Bocelli said, in turn. "I am very happy for that opportunity, because it is not just a performance, it is not just a concert; it is a prayer, and I would like to think that all listeners will be able to pray with me.”

Bocelli will be accompanied by famous organist is Emanuele Vianelli.

The works especially arranged for singing and the organ in this performance will include "Ave Maria" and "Santa Maria."

The live broadcast on YouTube will start at 1pm Central European Time.

In addition, the Andrea Bocelli Foundation has started raising funds to help hospitals buy the instruments and equipment needed by medical staff.
