French-Armenian actor and director Simon Abkarian won the Moliere Award, France's most prestigious theater award.
His play 'Electre des bas-fonds,' which was staged at Ariane Mnouchkine’s Theatre du Soleil, won the Moliere in public theater.

Simon Abkarian was awarded as a director of a public theater performance.
"Without artists, life would be deadly" Abkarian noted.
