British drummer Lee Kreslake, 73, has died after a battle with prostate cancer, as reported The Rolling Stones.
The drummer’s death has been confirmed by Uriah Heep’s drummers Ken Hensley and Mick Box.
Kreslake joined Uriah Heep in late 1971, first appearing on the metal act’s fourth LP, Demons and Wizards, after which he drummed on eight more Uriah Hepp LPs. Later, he joined Ozzy Ozbourne’s team and drummed on two albums, including 1980’s Blizzard of Oz. Now Blizzard of Oz is Number Nine on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums.
