The staff of the Moscow Drama Theater has decided to rename the theater after the late People's Artist of the USSR, renowned Armenian actor Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. The theater group plans to petition to the authorities of the Russian capital in the near future with this proposal.
The decision to name the theater after its founder was made during the general meeting of its staff. "A decision was made to ask the culture department of the Moscow City Hall to name the theater after the founder so that it would not be called Led by Dzhigarkhanyan, but Moscow Dzhigarkhanyan Theater," a source told RIA Novosti.
Armen Dzhigarkhanyan had passed away on November 14, at the age of 85.
