Singer Tata Simonyan has shared his family story on the occassion of the Armenian Genocide annoversary.
"My grandmother is Adrine Hayrapet Hayrapetyan (Simonyan).
She was born in 1910 in Van, died in 1990 in Yerevan.
Their large family also fell victim to the Armenian Genocide committed by the Turkish Empire in 1915. The old man managed to save the lives of his two grandchildren, to take them to Yerevan, to my grandmother, to her four-year-old sister.
May God enlighten the souls of the innocent martyrs of the Armenian nation, who fell heroically," he noted.
