Prince William and Harry spoke about the former BBC journalist Martin Bashir and the TV and radio corporation itself amid the scandalous interview that their mother Princess Diana gave in 1995, NBC News reported.
According to the eldest son William, this interview played a significant role in the deterioration of relations between his parents and hurt many people. He said Diana was let down not only by the dishonest journalist but also by the BBC leadership.
Prince Harry, in turn, noted that the journalists' actions played a fatal role for his mother, who died in a car accident due to the fault of the paparazzi who pursued her.
As the younger brother noted, the chain reaction that was associated with unethical actions and a culture of exploitation ultimately took the princess's life.
The Duke of Sussex also pointed out that practices similar to those of Bashir are still widespread.
