The divorce proceedings of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have been going on for the 6th year, and all this time celebrities cannot agree on the terms of custody of children.

The actress said the judge refused to listen to evidence she said was relevant to the safety and well-being of the children before issuing a preliminary ruling. The documents cited by PageSix do not specify what this evidence might be.

Jolie also said the judge failed to properly consider a section of the California court code that states that it is detrimental to the best interests of the child if custody is awarded to a person with a history of domestic violence.

Her statement did not detail what was at stake, but in March her lawyers produced a sealed document that allegedly contains additional information.

Jolie filed for divorce in 2016 - a few days after controversy broke out on a private flight that transported the actors and their children from France to Los Angeles. Pitt was accused of mistreating his then 15-year-old son during the flight, but an investigation by child protection officers and the FBI was closed and no charges were filed against the actor. Jolie's lawyer then said that she was seeking a divorce for the health of the family.

In response to Jolie's statement, Pitt's lawyers said the judge has conducted extensive proceedings over the past six months in a thorough, fair manner and made a preliminary decision and order after hearing experts and attesting witnesses.
