Prince Charles may break 200-year-old royal tradition when he ascends to throne

14:08, June 5

Elizabeth II celebrated her 95th birthday this year. Despite her advanced age, the queen does not plan to leave the throne and is actively working. Almost a month after the funeral of her husband, Prince Philip, she appeared in parliament and recently visited an aircraft carrier named after herself. In the event that the queen renounces the throne, then her eldest son, Prince Charles, is listed first in line to the throne.

Earlier, the Prince of Wales has already announced that he will reduce the number of members of the monarchy when he becomes the UK king. Most likely, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will be hit with such 'sunctions'. Also, according to the Daily Express, Charles may break the 200-year-old royal tradition and refuse to move to Buckingham Palace. Now he and his wife Camilla Parker-Bowles live in Clarence House.
