Hollywood actor Michael Douglas revealed that he was mistaken for the grandfather of his own 18-year-old daughter at her high school prom.

He shared this on a talk show with host Kelly Clarkson, an excerpt of which was posted on YouTube.

"It was so wonderful, I'm so proud of her," Douglas said before discussing the awkward moment.

"I gotta tell you Kelly, it's a little rough when you're going out the doors and the other parents are saying, 'Oh congratulations…you must be so proud of your granddaughter,' " he said, prompting host Kelly Clarkson to burst out in laughter.

Michael Douglas and 51-year-old actress Catherine Zeta-Jones have been married for over 20 years. The star couple have two children: 21-year-old son Dylan and daughter Caris.
