Prince Charles takes risk to make Camilla Parker Bowles queen

12:26, June 23

The heir to the British throne, Prince Charles is ready to risk for the sake of his beloved Camilla Parker Bowles to make his wife queen.

For the sake of his plan, Prince Charles will not deprive the children of Meghan Markle and Harry of their titles, because it could hurt his plan to make Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, the queen consort when he becomes king.

Meghan and Harry's heirs, Archie and Lilibet, do not currently hold any royal titles and are not princes or princesses. But when Queen Elizabeth II dies and Charles becomes king, they automatically get the right to use the titles, as they will be the grandchildren of the current monarch.

Charles, being king, can strip his grandchildren's titles, but then his popularity rating will fall, expert Robert Lacey explains.

And Charles needs to create an extremely positive image to make Camilla his queen consort.

“It is clear to me that the Queen and her advisers have discussed this issue at the highest level, and that the future royal status of Archie and Lili is not in jeopardy in her lifetime.

“It is possible that Prince Charles may try to remove royal status from the Sussex children when he comes to the throne but that does not seem likely," the author of Battle of Brothers explained.

"His priority then will be to gain popular support for upgrading the status of Camilla from princess consort to queen consort, and he is not likely to court unpopularity by removing HRH status from Archie and Lili," he added.
