Anton Dyakov, the director of the Oscar-nominated animated short "Boxballet", could not get an American visa, TASS reported.
"They did not give me a visa. We requested, but the consulates in Russia have been closed for a long time. We applied in another country - there was not even a message saying 'come for an interview' or something like that. I remain a nominee, this cannot be taken away, but the trip to the ceremony itself is not possible," said Dyakov.
The event is to be held on 27 March.
