The painting of Pablo Picasso 'Lying naked woman' (Femme nue couchée), depicting the artist's mistress Marie-Thérèse Walter, sold for $67.5 million at an auction Sotheby's, TASS reported.
The painting was the most valuable lot among all those sold on the day of trading. The estimate of the work of Picasso was $ 58.5 million dollars.
The picture was painted by the artist in 1932, when Picasso and Marie-Thérèse lived together in the castle of Boisgeloup. There were created the main sculptural and pictorial masterpieces of the period of surrealism Picasso.
