American singer and actress Jennifer Lopez revealed that her mother - Guadalupe Rodriguez - abused her as a child,  NYPost publication reported.

In the new Netflix documentary "Halftime," Lopez describes her mother as a difficult person, but notes that their relationship is much better now.

“Mom did what she had to do to survive, and it made her strong, but also tough. She beat the hell out of me.”Lopez said.

Rodriguez herself also appeared in the picture and admitted to being cruel to Lopez and her two sisters.

“I always had the highest expectations of them. It wasn't to be critical. It was only to show you that you could do better," Lopez's mother said.
