Amber Heard's lawyers have filed a motion to overturn the jury's verdict of defamation of Johnny Depp, The New York Post reported.
Johnny Depp did not provide real evidence - only circumstantial. There is no reason to believe that Ms Heard's statements were in fact false, the documents say.
Depp's lawyers have already responded to the petition.
In early June, the jury unanimously found Amber Heard guilty in the case against Johnny Depp and ordered her to pay compensation to the actor in the amount of $15 million. However, Western tabloids soon reported that the actress had serious financial problems and was going to file an appeal.
