Cher angers fans with cow emoji talking about Elizabeth II death

10:14, September 11

Singer Cher posted a controversial post on Twitter in memory of Queen Elizabeth II who passed away on September 8. The singer's fans were surprised by her choice of emoji to accompany the post, reports the New York Post.

The singer recalled their personal meeting in 1988.

She went on to say: "I Was In Long Line of Ppl Waiting 2 Meet Her, Yet When She Got 2 Me, She Asked Me Pertinent Questions, & Seemed Genuinely Interested In Talking 2 Me."

Cher added the Queen had a "great sense of humour" but went on to confuse fans by adding: "I'm proud she was a [cow emoji]."

Fans of the artist tried to figure out the reasons for using the cow emoji. It turned out, Cher made a mistake - she misinterpreted the acronym GOAT (Greatest Of All Time, is a homonym for the word "goat"), confusing it with the word "cow".

After that, the singer's tweet went viral online and became the subject of jokes among fans.
