Famous Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie expressed her support for Iranian women who began demonstrations after the death of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini.
Respect for the brave, bold and courageous women of Iran. all those who have survived and resisted for decades are taking to the streets today. Women do not need to have their morals controlled, their minds re-educated and their bodies controlled. They need the freedom to live and breathe without violence and threats, Jolie wrote.
22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in Iran on September 16. The girl had come to Tehran to visit her relatives. He was detained in the city by a special police unit that monitors compliance with Shariah law. The girl later ended up in the hospital and died. For his part, Sardar Hossein Rahimi, head of the Tehran police, described the girl's death as an accident.
After that, Iranians began to cut their hair and burn scarves en masse.
