Royal family is back in middle of scandal

13:41, October 2

The royal family is again at the center of the scandal. This time, the public went ballistic over the high ticket prices for tickets to Windsor Castle, where Elizabeth II's burial place is located.

On September 8, the British queen passed away. She was the second longest reigning monarch in history. During the 70 years of her reign, Elizabeth II gained millions of admirers from around the world. Not only influential politicians, but also residents and guests of London saw her off to her last journey. Even though the official farewell has long since ended, hundreds of people still line up to visit Windsor Castle.

In order to see the queen's burial, you need to buy a ticket. For adults it costs £28.5 (Saturday) and £26.5 on other days. Although there are plenty of people who want to honor the memory of Elizabeth II, not all of them are willing to pay the price. Some don't understand why the royal family is charging grieving Britons such a "large sum of money."

"For the price they charge to visit the late Queen’s grave, you can get an all inclusive ticket to Versailles, Château, Garden and Temporary Art Shows and have enough change left to drink a coffee!," wrote one Twitter user.
