The filming process of the new season of the series "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power" has begun in the UK, The Hollywood Reporter wrote.

Events in it unfold thousands of years before the actions described in "The Hobbit" and the "The Lord of the Rings" saga.
Viewers have only seen the story of one ring. But there have been many rings and now they are going to learn about them, showrunners John D. Payne and Patrick McKay previously told Variety.

The new season will reportedly feature a new character, Círdan, one of the oldest and wisest elves. The actor is not yet known. The first season was filmed in New Zealand, the filming of the second season was moved to the UK for economy and convenience.
