American TV star Kim Kardashian agreed to pay a fine of $1.26 million in connection with allegations of improper advertising of cryptocurrency, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reported.
The agency accused the reality TV star of violating rights when advertising cryptocurrencies. Based on U.S. law, Kim was required to disclose that she was paid to advertise a cryptocurrency.
Kardashian did not specify that she received $250,000 for its placement. In addition to paying the fine, the photo model is banned from advertising cryptocurrency for three years.
