The writer of the adult animated series "Rick and Morty" Justin Roiland has been charged with domestic violence and unlawful imprisonment, NBC reported.
The incidents for which the charges are filed occurred in January 2020. The female victim alleges that Roiland injured, threatened, misled, and unlawfully incarcerated her.
Roiland, who was taken into custody and released on bail in 2020, pleaded not guilty. His lawyer, confident of his client's innocence, is confident the case will be dismissed.
He also voiced the main characters in the "Rick and Morty" series, Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith.
