A cultural masterclass, entitled “Armenian New Year’s Table,” was held Sunday in capital city Yerevan.  At the event, ethnographer Sonia Tachdjian and head chef Levon Avagyan presented the ritual traditions of the Armenian New Year.

Subsequently, they prepared the traditional dishes of the Armenian New Year’s table.  

During the preparation phase, the recipes of the traditional Armenian dishes were presented, too.   The preparation of each dish was accompanied by the performance of Armenian songs and the recital of Armenian poems. The “Armenian New Year’s Table” masterclass ended with a taste test.
