Jennifer Lopez, Ben Affleck reveal reason for separation 3 days before wedding in 2003

Jennifer Lopez's new documentary, The Greatest Love Story Never Told, lifts the lid on the reason she broke up with Ben Affleck in 2003, three days before their wedding.

“Ben and I broke up three days before the wedding. We had a big wedding planned... 14 ushers and bridesmaids, and three days before we just caved in under the pressure,” JLo says in the documentary.

Ben agrees: “When Jen and I split, the catalyst for it was the massive attention to our personal lives.” “It was really hard all these years because I didn’t just feel like I’d lost the love of my life, I felt like I’d lost the best friend I’d ever had. And I couldn’t talk about it for so many years,” Jennifer said.

During the conversation, Ben asks her: “I think in order to turn this page of our lives, we must forgive each other. Do you forgive me?” "This grief set us both on a path of self-discovery and becoming better people," says JLo.

“Do you think you've completely forgiven me?” Ben asks again. “Yes, I think I have completely forgiven you. I think I need to forgive myself for some things,” Lopez responds.
