Karl Lagerfeld's Paris apartment has sold for $10.8 million, nearly double the estimated price, Hypebeast reports. The apartment is located in a 17th-century building in the Saint-Thomas-d'Aquin district overlooking the Seine.
The late head of Fendi and Chanel lived in this apartment for ten years, until his death in 2019. Before moving in, the designer remodeled the apartment in a “futuristic style,” adding concrete floors and sandblasted glass walls, the notary said.
Other features included a kitchen made entirely of stainless steel and glass bookcases.
The apartment itself occupied an area of 260 square meters, with a dressing area of 50 square meters.
Most of the art and furniture that decorated Lagerfeld's apartment were sold at Sotheby's auction.
