David Beckham can't get over daughter growing up, it's becoming a problem in his relationship with wife Victoria

David Beckham is being overprotective of his 13-year-old daughter Harper, and it's having a negative impact on his relationship with his wife, Victoria, reports Now to Love.

Recently, for Harper's milestone 13th birthday, the doting dad threw her a full-on family holiday in Sardinia and a private party on their yacht. But just a few days before that, Harper showed that she's outgrown the girly balloons when she was spotted at a festival in London without her parents.

According to an insider, David can't get over the fact that Harper is no longer his little girl.

"Victoria is trying to be patient, but getting him to accept the next stage in their daughter's life is very difficult. It's driving a wedge between her and David, and Harper's independence has become one of the biggest points of contention between them."

Tensions apparently came to a head recently when the daughter begged her parents to go to BST Hyde Park with friends—a request that left her already worried dad shocked. “It was just another sign that she's not daddy's little girl any more, which breaks his heart,” says a source.

Last year, David, 49, gushed about his daughter “growing up,” jokingly urging his sons to be prepared to protect her from any unwanted attention. But the source says even the thought of Harper dating terrifies David.

To complicate matters further for David, Victoria seems to see the bright side of Harper's growing up. “She's excited about Harper hitting new milestones and is championing her love of fashion. Victoria is now her unofficial stylist, which has become a sore point for David—he thinks she encourages Harper to dress older than her age.”
