12:32 27 November, 2024Cher has confirmed she is retiring after more than six decades on stage. The 76-year-old singer has said her upcoming album will be her last.
The legendary singer was discussing her career as part of a tour to promote her memoir, The Sun reports.
Cher told the crowd she was ready to retire, but not before releasing her first new project since 2013.
“This is probably my last album I'm going to make. I'm really excited. They're great songs, and I'm just really excited to do it.”
Cher noted she has now started giving advice to young women and encourages them to “get over themselves” and embrace life—but before admitting she would give anything to be 60 again.
The star admitted she has struggled to adjust to ageing and doesn't know how to change it, despite being almost 80. Cher admitted she enjoys hanging out with younger people because she’s not ready to accept her age yet. “I like younger people because a lot of my friends don’t want to have fun.”
Cher’s aforesaid admission comes after her family raised concerns about her much younger boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards.
A source close to Cher’s son, Chaz Bono, claims the singer can’t see AE’s “true intentions” despite him throwing up “red flag after red flag.”
“Cher’s family have given up trying to convince her that Alexander doesn’t have her best interests at heart,” an insider exclusively told DailyMail.com. “She’s maintained he’s not after her money, but he’s making a huge amount of money from this new album and she’s giving him creative control over it.”
The source added that further panic over the relationship was sparked when Cher revealed she was allegedly taking steps to change her will to include AE.
"She hasn't done it yet, but she is seriously considering it because she claims he is the love of her life."
