Anthony Hopkins’ Los Angeles home burns to the ground

Anthony Hopkins is one of many Los Angeles residents who have lost their homes to the wildfires raging across the city.

The Pacific Palisades home of the legendary actor—who turned 87 on December 31—has burned to the ground, as seen in photos obtained by PEOPLE. The scene shows only a few concrete pillars, a charred tree, and a stone walkway where smoke was still rising from the rubble.

More than 130,000 people have fled their homes as a series of wildfires continue to rapidly engulf much of Los Angeles County. Officials have said the death toll is currently unknown because it is a “volatile and evolving crisis.”
