19:43 25 February, 2025Fans of Luigi Mangione, the man accused of murdering the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, are going crazy over his shoes. And while most of them wouldn't want to be in the defendant's shoes, the swanky shoes he wore to court have become viral.
Luigi, 26, wore loafers and no shoes when a Manhattan Supreme Court judge denied requests to delay his trial in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
Mangione allegedly shot and killed Thompson, 50, in the early morning hours of December 4. He has pleaded not guilty and is currently being held at the Brooklyn Detention Center.
Google searches for “Luigi Mangione loafers” jumped 1,400% in less than 24 hours after their high-profile debut beneath the arrested hunk’s chained ankles, WWD reports. Virtual searches for “Luigi Mangione outfits” also soared 350% on Google.

The hysteria surrounding his latest ensemble is reminiscent of the mania that erupted over the maroon sweater Mangione wore during his first court appearance in late 2024.
Die-hard supporters of the accused killer wore similar tops to his court appearances, as well as “Free Luigi” pieces in a show of stylish solidarity.
And his online fans aren’t shy about expressing their undying devotion to the dapper defendant.

"I have a fetish for Luigi Mangione's feet," one fan confessed, "Female porn is something else entirely. It could be Luigi's shoes," "I confess: I didn't have a lust for Luigi until I saw the shoes," "Luigi wearing a woven sweater and shoes... a stylish revolutionary," "Remove the shackles from his feet so he can dance," "Free Luigi's feet."
