Dolly Parton's husband of nearly 60 years dies at 82

Dolly Parton's husband, Carl Thomas Dean, has died at the age of 82.

The 79-year-old country music icon announced her husband's death on Monday. They were married for nearly 60 years. In a statement on Instagram, the singer informed that Carl passed away in Nashville on Monday.

Also, Dolly celebrated the "many wonderful years" the couple spent together, expressing her deep love for Carl and thanking fans for their prayers.

"Carl and I have had many wonderful years together. Words cannot express the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy," Parton wrote.

In 2024, Dolly Parton had opened up about why her husband refused to attend events with her. She said that while her husband "loves" music, he "has no interest in pursuing it." But throughout their decades together, the couple, who renewed their vows in 2016, had relied on their sense of humor to avoid conflict.
