How to marry a billionaire: Expert advice

A modern prince charming needs to have a hefty bank account. And matchmaking expert Susan Trombetti told DailyMail.com how to marry a billionaire.

“The first steps to attracting a billionaire start long before you meet them,” she says. According to her, people often come to her wanting to find someone “super rich,” but that doesn’t mean they aren’t genuinely looking to find love.

“Billionaires are people like the rest of us, but with an amazing bank account,” she joked. “It’s a long game. It’s about positioning yourself to attract and then strategically placing yourself in the billionaire’s orbit.”

She added that it’s important not to just focus on one billionaire, but to be in the orbit of “many billionaires.”

“I don’t see any shame or guilt in the fact that women are looking for a rich man. I have a problem with superficial relationships on both sides.”

While an arranged marriage can solve some financial problems, Susan warned that simply chasing money shouldn’t be anyone’s “end goal.”

“I’m not trying to persuade women or men to marry for money, although we know that people do that,” she shared.

Susan added that billionaires are just like regular people—they’re also looking for someone who is kind, cultured, educated, beautiful, and “can take their place next to them.”

“Think Wendi Deng and Rupert Murdoch, or Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg,” she said. “These women are smart, sophisticated, beautiful, and can hold their own on the world stage. These are not regular women. Aspire to be like them.”

She warned that there are downsides to marrying for money. “Many rich men know they can trade their wealth for youth and beauty,” she said. “If the game you want to play is just for money, play it, but know that you have an expiration date and you’ll be thrown out when it gets close.”

• Go to a good school and get a degree. An MBA will allow you to work for any billionaire
• Learn multiple languages so you can speak fluently on a global level.
• Don't expect to be a wife or husband waiting for their partner
• Invest in travel to places like Aspen, Dubai, the Hamptons, Mykonos, Lake Como, and the French Riviera or Monaco to expand your network
• Consider networking at exclusive galas, exhibition openings, horse races, and all the places and events that billionaires attend.
• You need to think about which matchmakers have this type of clientele (very few) and join their network
