Jonathan Anderson appointed new creative director of Dior

In one of the most anticipated shifts in the world of high fashion, Jonathan Anderson has officially taken the helm at the fashion house Dior, becoming the creative director of the women’s, men’s, and couture collections. This move marks a new chapter in the history of the French fashion giant, reports WWD.

The 40-year-old designer from Northern Ireland is the eighth couturier in Dior’s history and will present his first women’s prêt-à-porter collection this October during Paris Fashion Week. His debut as creative director of the men’s line is set for June 27, marking his full integration into the house.

Anderson replaces Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first woman to lead Dior’s creative direction since 2016. Over eight years, her name became synonymous with a feminist reimagining of fashion and a visual dialogue with art. Her farewell show took place in Rome: the 2026 cruise collection combined haute couture with ready-to-wear.

“Jonathan Anderson is one of the outstanding creative talents of our time. His unique artistic signature will be an important part of the next chapter in Dior’s history,” said LVMH Group head Bernard Arnault.

Anderson himself commented on his appointment with characteristic humility: “It is a great honor for me to unite under one aesthetic the women’s, men’s, and couture lines of Dior. My creative instinct is based on the spirit of empathy instilled by Christian Dior himself. I look forward to beginning work with the brand’s legendary ateliers.”
