Hermès unveils Artistic Arceau Locomotion watch: Limited to 12 Pieces with hand-painted dials and diamonds

Hermès once again proves that watchmaking can be bold, conceptual, and stunningly beautiful with its latest haute horlogerie creation — the Arceau Hermès Locomotion. This exclusive limited edition is produced in a run of just 12 pieces.

At first glance, this 38mm white gold marvel with a dusty lilac alligator strap might leave you wondering, what’s going on here? But within moments, it becomes clear: this is a masterful fusion of pop art, jewelry craftsmanship, and watch engineering.

The centerpiece is a miniature painting inspired by the futuristic Locomotion scarf by French artist Ugo Bienvenu. The dial comes alive like a vibrant comic strip: against the backdrop of the Hermès boutique on Faubourg Saint-Honoré, whimsical characters ride futuristic horse-shaped capsules. The artwork is painstakingly hand-painted in layers, featuring rich strokes of pink, blue, green, and yellow.

Adding depth, a second layer of painting decorates the inner side of the domed sapphire crystal. The frame surrounding this fantasy world sparkles with 71 brilliant-cut diamonds, while the winding crown is topped with a delicate pink diamond.

Inside beats the equally exquisite Hermès automatic caliber H1912, measuring just 3.7mm thick and offering a 50-hour power reserve.
