On the historic Castel Sant'Angelo bridge — where ancient Roman echoes still linger — Dolce & Gabbana staged a spectacular Alta Sartoria menswear show this week. Among the models who graced the runway was Armenian talent Ashot Grigoryan, who quite literally shone in one of the show’s most striking looks.

Originally from Vanadzor, Armenia, but raised in France, Ashot’s distinctive and powerful presence — marked by a fighter’s spirit — fit seamlessly with the fashion house’s bold vision. Ashot is also a boxer, and that inner discipline, strength, and focus come through in every shot.

Today, he works with agencies like Williams Agency, Wilhelmina, Boom Model Agency, and Wayf Hamburg, and he’s also the face of Italian brand I’M BRAIN. Now, he’s added Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Sartoria in Rome to his impressive résumé.

On the runway, Ashot wore a look seemingly inspired by the ceremonial opulence of the Vatican and the grandeur of Baroque art. His ensemble — a black velvet suit adorned with lavish gold embroidery, decorative tassels, and a medallion cross — looked like it stepped straight out of a fresco, blending priestly splendor with cinematic extravagance.

Dolce & Gabbana’s latest collection drew heavily from ecclesiastical vestments, and looks like Ashot Grigoryan’s embodied the essence of this high aesthetic — masculine, noble, and powerfully regal.
