33-year-old Aleira Avendaño from Miami claims to have spent around $1 million to approach the world record for the smallest waist. Today, her waist measures just 46 cm (18 inches), and she has been wearing a corset up to 23 hours a day for 17 years straight to achieve this.

Aleira says she dreams of breaking the record held by Cathie Jung, whose waist is about 38 cm (15 inches), and admits: “My organs have already shifted, adapting to the constant compression, but I have no intention of stopping.”

In addition to the corset, Aleira has spent $38,000 on plastic surgeries—including seven breast augmentations, five rhinoplasties, buttock implants, and new teeth. According to her, these radical changes helped her not only achieve an “exotic figure” but also inspired her to launch her own shapewear brand, Aleira Body Secrets.

“This is not just a result of discipline—it’s often a physically painful journey. But I’m proud to have turned my image into a successful business,” Aleira says.

She admits facing challenges when choosing clothes: “Nothing fits. I have to have everything custom-made. I have a very narrow waist but wide hips.” However, Aleira insists she doesn’t miss her former appearance at all. “People react differently—some admire me, some are scared, and men are just crazy about my figure,” she adds.
