Lirya: When Color Speaks Louder Than Diamonds

The collection premiered at the TEFAF fair in New York and was subsequently showcased in Boghossian boutiques in Geneva and London. At its core is a delicate balance—not only in design but in the stories told by the stones themselves. Aquamarine and moonstone, rubellite and green tourmaline, sapphire and kunzite — pairings that might seem unexpected at first glance, yet in Boghossian’s hands, work flawlessly.

What sets Lirya apart is its break from tradition. Instead of centering the design around a single diamond, the focus is on colored gemstones from the start. This approach creates pieces that feel airy, modern, and surprisingly natural.

Minimalism as Philosophy

Jewelry settings are kept minimal to avoid obstructing light or color. Each stone is treated as a standalone masterpiece, given room to fully “sing” in its brilliance.

Standout pieces include earrings featuring aquamarine, yellow beryl, and diamonds, as well as a necklace adorned with an array of colorful stones reminiscent of a painting. Other designs combine tourmaline with paraiba tourmaline, and aquamarine with moonstone and diamonds, creating a cool, serene palette. A set pairing kunzite with pink sapphire reinterprets the classic chandelier form with a refined touch.

Color isn’t new to Boghossian’s work. The house has long been known for bold experimentation and a sophisticated “East meets West” style. Yet Lirya marks a mature continuation of their philosophy: honoring tradition without being confined by it.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship

Boghossian traces its roots back to 1868, when Ovannes Boghossian opened his workshop in Mardin — a historic crossroads of East and West trade routes. Despite many relocations — from Mardin to Aleppo, then Beirut, and finally Geneva by the late 20th century — the family business flourished.

Today, the sixth generation leads the brand: Albert Boghossian, along with his cousins Ralph and Roberto, and daughter Dalia, continue to grow the house in Geneva. Beyond the flagship boutique on Rue du Rhône, salons are open in London (Old Bond Street), New York, Hong Kong, and Monaco.
