Yerevan to host Beer Festival for 4th time: what to expect during the three-day event

Yerevan is preparing for a festival dedicated to one of the most beloved beverages. For the fourth year in a row, a three-day event called “Beer Days” will be held in the heart of the capital, on Zakyan Street, on August 22, 23 and 24. The festival is being implemented with the efforts of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia and the “EventToura” company.

According to the organizers, this event contributes not only to the popularization of Armenian beer, but also to the development of agriculture and the flow of tourists.

“As an organizer of various festivals for 18 years, I can say that event tourism is developing thanks to these festivals. This event has been held for 4 years and is known as the Beer Festival, and we hope that it will continue to be loved by tourists and our society. There are many festivals in Armenia now, and this is good, because the event tourism industry needs to develop. The beer festival has great potential, because we have a history that can be very well exploited, presented and bringing lovers of this drink to Armenia,” said Nune Manukyan, co-founder of “EventToura” company, at a press conference held today, August 13.

According to Lilit Tsarukyan, deputy director of “EventToura”, the festival is another opportunity to present Armenia as an ancient country of brewing.

“The festival will take place at the intersections of Zakyan-Khorenatsi, Zakyan-Lusavorich, on August 22, 23 and 24, from 16:00 to 22:30. The goal of the event is to develop event tourism and present Armenia as one of the oldest countries in brewing. Back in the 5th century BC, when Xenophon visited Armenia, he noted in his work that Armenians were making a drink and storing it in vats, and that drink was made from barley. This is evidence that that drink was beer, and we can take this history and say that, yes, we are one of the oldest beer-producing countries,” she emphasizes. According to Lilit Tsarukyan, in 2024, 14 beer-producing companies participated in the festival, and this year there will be more than 25 companies. “It is noteworthy that the producers are from different regions of Armenia: Syunik, Gegharkunik, Kotayk... Mainly Armenian beer exporting companies are participating, but we will also have 2-3 importing companies.”

The festival zone will be divided into several parts: from beer producers' and food vendors' booths to the game area. A competition and raffle will also be held every day at 22:00.

“We have almost 30 beer producers in Armenia. If in previous years small producers did not participate in the festival, arguing that their products would not be enough for the 3-day visitors, this year several such companies have increased their production volumes so much that they are already participating in the festival and are ready to serve the visitors,” Lilit Tsarukyan happily emphasized.

Diana Karapetyan, representative of the Marketing and Department of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, summing up the festival results, added:

“We strive to have a lot of festivals all year round, from the ones supporting winter tourism to autumn, so that the year is full of event-based tourism and any tourist can find an event that suits them, from sports to cultural.”

According to her, 263,592 tourists came to Armenia in July 2025, which is 10.9 percent more than the previous year. She noted that the months of May and June were also active.
