Mariam Torosyan, Founder & CEO of Safe YOU, has been honored with the prestigious Cartier Women’s Initiative (CWI) Impact Award for her outstanding global impact as a social entrepreneur. The recognition marks a new milestone in her journey with Cartier, building on her earlier recognition in 2023 in Paris as the Cartier Women’s Initiative Regional Awardee for Europe. While the regional award celebrated her as a bold impact entrepreneur, the Impact Award honors the extraordinary scale and long-term change she and Safe YOU have achieved since then.

Through Safe YOU, Mariam and her team have built an AI-powered mobile app and platform that equips women and girls with emergency support, safe reporting, and access to justice. The platform operates at both the individual and systemic levels providing a lifeline for women in danger, while also helping institutions, governments, and NGOs strengthen the prevention of and response to gender-based violence.

Today, Safe YOU is active in six countries — Armenia, Georgia, Iraq, Romania, Poland, and the United States (New Mexico). To date, it has reached over 1 million women, directly impacted 52,000 women, and holds a record of 300 lives saved. These achievements reflect the platform’s role as both a technology and a movement for safety, equality, and empowerment.
