Legendary actress Glenn Close isn’t afraid to take risks on screen—and at 78, she proved it once again. In her new film The Summer Book (2024), based on the novel by Finnish author Tove Jansson, Close plays the role of the Grandmother. A scene in which she walks alone through the forest completely nude has already become a sensation.

“It was my idea,” Close told AARP Movies for Grownups. “I thought: she would do this when no one is around. In Finland, nudity is approached much more calmly than here.”

The actress added, “I didn’t want to get dressed again. I felt so good.”

This isn’t the first time Close has pushed boundaries on screen. In 2019, she performed a passionate scene in The Wife. In an interview with The Guardian, she noted, “There’s a myth that you lose your sexuality as you age. I feel just as free, creative, and sexual as I ever did.”

Glenn Close is already preparing for her next major project: in November, she will appear in the star-studded mystery Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story, alongside Daniel Craig, Josh O’Connor, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, and others.
